First 100 Smartlet™ Charging Stations Go to Grant Eligible Cities, Agencies, Fleets & Businesses who Qualify & Jointly File Grant Applications by May 6th 2009!!
Carbon Day Automotive, ‘CDA’, is ready to help your city, agency, fleet & business get Smart Grid ready by plugging you into the sun. It is our recommendation that the Department of Energy’s vehicle grant be utilized on a national level to increase the opportunities for funding through a nationwide grant team. The Project start date would be ready to commence as of June 17th, 2009 spanning a 4 year period. CDA will seek from the DOE, agencies, utilities, and other private public sources, grants and subsidies for the installation of charging stations. The three-tier plan consists of: Phase I – The First Leg Demo of AFV with our Solar Plug™
Phase II – The “Get Ready Project”
Phase III – The “Full Charge” project. ********** Phase I, The First Leg demonstrates the use of electricity as an alternative fuel to power plug-in vehicles. Phase II, The Get Ready Renewable Energy Project ignites excitement in your community with our solar plug in station. Phase III, The Full Charge Infrastructure Project will validate the business revenue model, which is a new revenue model for municipalities. **********

For Phase 1 Carbon Day Automotive will be offering each city at no up front cost one “Smartlet™ charging station ” plus the opportunity for a series of up to 20 additional free Smartlet™ charging station infrastructures from Coulomb Technologies’ ChargePoint network. Cities, agencies, fleets & business with existing plug-in vehicles or demonstrated EV acquisitions will be given priority. The Charging Stations will be located in your fleet parking areas and in your downtown or central business areas.

“Your Solar Plug™ will cover parking spaces and produce about up to 10 kilowatt-hours of electricity per day”, said Scott Emalfarb of Carbon Day. This is a great combination for a city or agency to architecturally showcase what you can do, that you can integrate these things – shelter, solar energy and smart grid charging stations – into one sustainable AFV system to Get Project Ready for the Plug-in vehicles that are going to help reduce GHG and restore Clean Air” he said.

Carbon Day plans to act as a team member or project manager and will pass through to cities, agencies, fleets & businesses government grants and other subsidies. Additionally there are revenue opportunities for cities and fleets as they save fuel costs under managing their fleets. “Without these stations it would be like driving around in traditional cars without the availability of gas stations,” said Scott Emalfarb, CEO at Carbon Day. “The day of true plug-in electric vehicles will be here sooner than most people realize and the world needs to be ready to accommodate them. Carbon Day along with your city, agency, fleet or business will build them, and they will come.”
